"It's lovely to see my child being happy doing some gardening. My three-year-old daughter has lots of fun. She chooses the tools she needs and with Hannah's encouragement, independently plants some tomatoes and sunflower seeds. Thank you Cobham Children's Centre for the great experience that my child is getting at your gardening activity.
As an Early Years Foundation Stage educator I value the following aspects of child development that are covered in this activity:
1. Physical development - free play, digging etc.
2. Understanding of the world - what tools we use to plant and how plants grow.
3. Expressive art and design - talking about colours of the plants, being imaginative.
4. Maths - counting the plants and seeds.
5. Personal, social and health education & citizenship - making new friends, building confidence, being independent.
6. Communication and language - learning/expanding vocabulary related to gardening and nature."

"The children's centre is my lifeline." said one mum who has no family in this country and her friends don't have young children.
First Aid Course
As a first time mum I wanted to ensure that I could help my daughter medically if she got into trouble. The course was small (6 in total) so I felt relaxed and able to ask questions, however minor they may seem. The leader was friendly and shared personal examples. She brought dummies and equipment with her so we all had a practice and I felt confident that I would know what to do; should I need to. I intend to do a yearly refresher.

Baby massage taster session
"It's been great to do something just for my daughter .It's been lovely for both of us to meet new people."
A parent coming to the baby massage taster sessions said that she loves having this session to come to on a regular basis, something just for her baby, because everything else revolves around her 4 year old. She doesn’t mind the repetition and new mums starting each week, she just enjoys the company and massaging her baby.
"Thank you all at Cobham Children Centre for all the fun I have had on Fridays at St Andrews this year ! I hope your Christmas is filled with lots of fun too."
Parent from Friday fun time
Comments about Friday Funtime play and learn session at St Andrew's School.
"Always brilliant for children's interaction and learning to get on with others. Teddy is an only child so I feel he gets a lot out of these Friday mornings. Plus I enjoy the catch up with other mums too! :-)
What my child has enjoyed the most today is playing with farmyard animals and with cars/ride-ons outside."
